Product Manager Security and Access Control


  • You have a natural desire to follow up on new trends in the market, product releases, standards and protocols. You will be the go-to source for information on the latest and greatest technologies and products in the energy landscape.
  • You understand contemporary design and user experience in applications. You understand how people want to interact with smart home solutions on a daily basis. You use this understanding to create, together with the UX team desirable products and solutions for end-consumers.
  • You are responsible for the Profit and Loss statement of your product line, you create business plans supported by real data and use that to create your roadmap.
  • You propose solutions that represent the core Niko values in terms of design, reliability and eas of use.
  • You can write clear and concise instructional documents, maintain wiki pages, memos and product documentation.
  • You discover and validate problems and needs in the IP camera and video door station markets (both existing and future customers).
  • You will lead market and product analysis around the IP camera and video door station ecosystem.
  • You actively seek new market opportunities by leveraging the company’s distinctive competences.
  • You provide oversight of strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of the product.
  • You create and maintain the business plan including pricing.
  • Together with Partnerships and OEMs, you drive buy/build/partner decisions.
  • Together with R&D you conduct technology assessments.
  • You work with key customers, analysts and members of field organizations to gather requirements for future releases and feedback on current releases.


  • 3+ years’ experience working on Internet of Things, Smart Home or Consumer security camera initiatives.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of emerging IP camera technologies, such as the latest in codec technologies, wireless communication, machine learning algorithms, …
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain or equivalent; Masters/MBA degree a plus
  • You have a strong affinity with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban) and agile development tools
  • You are experienced in defining and managing horizontal or vertical software solutions, either through product management or equivalent activities.
  • You have a strong customer orientation and are comfortable in sales situations, proven through former activities
  • You are skilled in presentations and discussions with business and technical staff
  • You are effective at influencing and convincing others into action yet able to also be a good team member/player
  • You can manage in a very fast paced environment with multiple high-level priorities.
  • You are goal driven; plans and manages toward achieving goals, anticipates problems and issues and proactively drives their resolution.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
  • You are accustomed to work in an international environment involving multiple development sites on various time zones.
  • You are creative, you have an innovative mindset.
  • You’re analytical and use data and information to come to conclusions.
  • You’re a team player
  • You’re fluent in English. Fluency in French is considered a big advantage, while being able to read/write and speak Dutch is considered a plus.
