What will you do as a DevOps & CI / CD Engineer?

As a CI/CD Engineer in the Niko R&D team, you will contribute to maintaining and developing of our continuous integration systems.

This includes but is not limited to building software, developing build pipelines, application signing and security related items.

You are part of a CI/CD team that focusses mostly on CI related tasks together with supporting our development and validation teams.

  • You are responsible for maintaining and guarding our CI/CD principles
  • You are responsible for understanding and applying all current processes regarding CI, deliveries to our validation team and listening to feedback from developers.
  • You are responsible of building CI pipelines that can build/test our software in various release types/variants that are required.
  • You will also handle automated deployment of software either to developers or a validation team.
  • You will look at the existing systems with a critical mindset and suggest/implement improvements where needed.
  • You will handle urgent ad-hoc tasks when needed based on the needs of the developers/validation team.
  • You are security aware and always strive to use best practices. This includes risk assessment and being critical of the existing system security wise.
  • You understand the importance of dependency management, versioning and core principles around building applications and maintaining them.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a devops engineer with experience in CI / CD and preferably with some years of experience. You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or similar engineering domain or equal through experience.

In addition, you have knowledge of:

  • CI / CD Concepts
  • Jenkins
  • GIT / BitBucket
  • Docker
  • Bash and/or PowerShell scripting
  • Mobile apps (focus on deployment and provisioning)
  • Groovy syntax
  • REST API’s
  • Basic Database and SQL knowledge
  • Windows, MacOS and Linux and their differences


The following items are considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of:
    • Jira
    • Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, …)
    • Networking
    • JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Webhooks
  • Ability to multitask various tasks
  • Experience with agile/lean methodologies

On a personal level, you are a quick learner, and a passionate developer/integrator who is always up to date in terms of new technology. Working in a team gives you energy, but most tasks will be done independently. You have a systematic approach in your way of working, and able to keep sense of perspective of the different tasks. We expect you to have good communication skills and the ability to engage with many different people both internally in the organization and externally. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Dutch is a plus.
